Gap Inc. Adjusts Plans for a Seamless and Stress-Free Holiday

2020 has been a year unlike any other, and we know the holidays are no exception. To help make shopping stress-free this year, we’re focused on providing a convenient shopping experience for all our customers’ gifting needs with a variety of omni channel services.

We’ve also decided to close our stores in the U.S. on Thanksgiving, November 26, across all of our brands, including Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic, and Athleta. Customers are encouraged to shop great promotions across our family of brands from the comfort of their homes, with several seamless and stress-free services and perks:

  • Multiple Ways to Get Your Gifts: In addition to home delivery with multiple shipping options or pick up at a UPS Access Point, orders can be placed online and on our mobile app for our contactless Curbside Pickup and Buy Online and Pickup in Store services, which will be available for pick up on Friday, if the order was placed on Thanksgiving, where available.

  • Virtual Styling for Holiday Shoppers: To help customers with all their holiday styling and gifting questions, from the dressing room to the living room, Athleta and INTERMIX are offering one-on-one virtual styling sessions as an elevated contactless shopping experience. Athleta customers can book appointments via email, site, social, mobile and app and Intermix customers can book via site and mobile.

  • Loyalty with Benefits: Customers can enjoy a top-notch product assortment while accumulating rewards both online and in stores in our core brands’ new nationwide loyalty programs: Navyist RewardsGap Good RewardsBanana Republic Rewards, and Athleta Rewards.

  • Pay Your Way: Additionally, we are offering a number of convenient payment options in stores and online, including mobile point-of-sale and contactless payments like Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Android Pay, and our newly launched PayPal and Afterpay options for online payments.

To provide peace of mind to customers this holiday season, our teams are continuing to prioritize the enhanced health and safety measures we’ve implemented, which follow official COVID-19 recommendations from the WHO and CDC, as well as local government mandates. This includes requiring all employees and customers to wear masks (and providing disposable masks for customers who need them), increased sanitization and cleanings in high-traffic areas, metering customers to help reduce congestion, providing sanitization stations, and promoting social distancing throughout our stores.   

While some aspects of shopping have changed this year, what will never change is our purpose-led brands’ commitment to great product and a safe and seamless retail experience, however or whenever our customers choose to shop.
